GETTING STARTED:
The FGBC green certification process begins with an initial consultation to review your project goals and select the appropriate items from the Checklist. Rough-in and final inspections are performed by the Certifying Agent. These inspections provide the opportunity for the Agent to review the Checklist with the builder, contribute to the documentation process, and catch any selected green line items that may have been overlooked.
Documentation supporting the chosen line items is collected by the builder and the certifying agent. The documentation is sent to FSEC (Florida Solar Energy Center) for third party review. IF FSEC has any questions or concerns and these items are successfully addressed, a Green Certified Certificate is issued.
The certification fee charged by FGBC per home is: Member of FGBC and FHBA $75.00; Member of FGBC or FHBA $100.00; Non Members $125.00. This fee is in addition to the cost of certification services provided by the certifying agent.
