HVAC System Inspection:
This
inspection is designed to review the HVAC heating / cooling and ventilation designs. This
process includes inspecting the HVAC and ventilation ductwork for proper installation, an
inspection that is necessary but missing from traditional construction. We rarely see a
home where the ductwork will pass inspection without corrections.
Part
of the HVAC portion of Energy Star also requires flow hood testing of the supply and return
vents. The HVAC and ductwork system is designed to provide a certain flow of air to each room.
A flow hood is used to confirm the proper amount of air flow to each room. Poor ductwork
installation that includes crimps and 90 degree turns can destroy this flow. We have measured
rooms were the flow was zero.
